Turkey: One Turk in Three Would not Want a Christian Neighbor
According to a survey carried out with the support of the European Union, 55% of the Turkish population would not want a job in the field of justice or in the security forces to be offered to a member of a non-Muslim religious community. In the field of health 44% of Turkish people would not want Christian or Jewish doctors or nursing staff. They are 57% against an atheist family as neighbours, 42% would not want a Jewish neighbor, while 35% would be against Christians as neighbors.
The survey institute Frekans interviewed 1,108 people from several of the country’s regions, between May and June.
